Vinci Facilities and FACEO Entreprise Adaptée support since the beginning of 2016 the athletics disabled champion Timothée Adolphe, blind athlete, European record holder in 100m, 200m and 400m, 2016 European champion in 100m and 200m, Bronze medalist in 400m at the World championships in 2015.
In order to put both companies employees into the disability situation of Timothée and to understand the problematics related to the role of Timothée’s guide Gautier Simounet, Handiamo! held at INSEP June 29, 2016 a disability athletics event.
Timothée Adolphe and his guide lead the warming up session by putting the collaborators into the situation of a blind athlete being guided by a seeing person.
Each pair of collaborators, composed by a blind athlete and his guide, took part into a sprint competition.
The 3 pairs with the best times had the privilege to face Timothée Adolphe and his guide Gautier Simounet on a 50m sprint, being ‘valid’ again.
The picture shows they didn’t defeat the disabled champion.
After answering the numerous questions asked by the attending collaborators, Timothée Adolphe took a picture with them in front of his training center and signed the book which has just been published on his path and career.
« I would like to thank you for the quality of the organization and discussions, as well as for Timothée’s performance and his guide Gautier. The day has been very rich and too short but will leave us with good memories. We had the opportunity to approach great champions. » has declared Thierry ORLUC, CEO of FACEO Entreprise Adaptée at the end of the event.
